Rapyd has launched its first version of a staging feature, enabling developers to test site edits before making them on your live site.
What’s New
The staging feature allows creation of a dedicated staging site to safely test any site updates before implementing changes on the production environment.
How It Works
Creating a Staging Site
- Access the dashboard and click the Production tab dropdown
- Select Create staging option
- Build process takes approximately 10 minutes
- Once built, test edits and updates before deploying to live site
Staging Site Specifications
- Same specs as Developer plan: 1 vCPU, 2GB RAM, 18 PHP workers
- Disk space matches the production site plan (e.g., 150GB for Performance plan)
Current Limitations
- Cannot pull from production to staging with one click
- To refresh staging, delete the site and rebuild following the creation process
- Quick rebuild tool coming soon to replace manual process
- Custom domains not supported on staging sites
- Staging sites lack dedicated IP addresses
